WOW, it's out! THE BIG FLOW! GO GET IT :-)

If you don't mind, here's my 2 cents worth of review! If you do, oh well, what can I do?

The Big Flow ist (wieder) ein Album, bei dem mich einige Titel gleich "anspringen", anderes braucht bissle Zeit und/oder paar Mal hören, bis es sich erschliesst - some titles directly "jumped at me", others needed some time or a couple of turns on my player. Hervorragende Musik mit tollen Mitspielern, unerwarteteten Besetzungen und Sounds. Mehr Gitarre bzw. gitarrenartiges, for the funk of it, for the fun of it. Quite some food for the fans of the fretless bass. Und ich kenne Keinen, der so eine Verbindung von Electro, Pop, Jazz mit Ethno-Anklängen schafft. Really, there is no-one able to create such a fusion of styles, electro, pop, jazz, ethnic influence, and still remain just the one alwys detectable unique HATTLER. Looking forward to the tour, my dear!

• Waiting
  And it was well worth waiting for this new impressive voice: quite an introduction for Fola Dada. Contains also one of my dearest new sounds. A scratch turned into a "knot". Or call it what you want.
• So Low
  Here is the song with Sandie Wollasch singing perfectly low and also the one with a very nice synthesizer solo by Ingo Bischof. Not lowly, but highly recommended.
• Scion
  Kennen Sie den? Vielleicht, denn dieser Titel war schon auf der Surround Cuts DVD (und der Surround/DTS CD), hier allerdings mit dem Lead Vocal Part von Fola Dada
• Assalamu Alaikum
  Ein funkiger Titel (Groove vom Bass, keine Gitarren!), der mich schon LIVE sehr beeindruckt hat, mit Fola und Nkechi on Vocals
• Mourning Son
  Another one with funky grooves created for the bass. Also some lovely electric sitar work by Torsten de Winkel who is also part of the new tour band.
• Sesame
  Starting with a far away distorted sound, this one turns out to be a rather up-front slow vocal title just perfect for a mellow voiced Fola Dada over the fretless bass lines.
• Didgeridoo
  Auch schon auf den Surround Cuts zu hören, hier die SUPER Kombination von Elektronik mit unglaublichem, eben z.B. dem Didgeridoo und der Zheng, und dazu ein hypnotischer Gesang mit abgefahrenen Refrain-Harmonien und -Satz
• Zimt
  Eine Instrumentalie, die uns mit sparsamer (?) aber effektiver Percussion und viel Fretless und Sitar erfreut
• Salaud
  Ca y est! Erst ein Kick mit einer Elektro-Tom, und dann diese ekstatische Auf- und Abwärtsbewegung der Vocals von Fola, und das nordafrikanisch angehauchte Harmonieschema. Oh! Oh yes! Mais oui!
• Believer
  This one is one of my personal favorites of this CD. With an absolutely intriguing vocal/voice combo performed by Markos Koderisch and Hallmut Hattler. Does it groove? Definitely! A Sebastian Studnitzky trumpet solo from dreamland included!
• Marseille
  Fola Dada in Octaver mode in the verse of this Marseilaise. The most sitarish of all Marseillaises I know!
• The Big Flow
  The title track - vocals by Nkechi Mbakwe - presents the feeling of its name. Flowing along with the groove of keyboard and sitar to another cool rhythm track of co-writer Juergen Schlachter, this one also leaves me wondering how much space there is between a moon and a muffin. And the lovely vocal break comes as a nice surprise.
• Bon Ami
  Der Mond ist auch mein guter Freund, so wie dieses groovige Stück. Hey Yeah! Das haben Sie sehr schön gemacht, mein Herr Hattler. Wenn ich hier als Beispiel diese Refrain-Vokalharmonie erwähnen dürfte, die ist schon für sich alleine ein Knaller ...
• Sugar Chat
  Wir beenden den Review mit dem Rückblick über den Zuckerschwatz, welcher ein weiterer Instrumentaltitel ist. Ein sehr entspannter Track mit einem total spacigem Interludium zum Trompetensolo.
